Head of Quality Management

Position Title: Head of Quality Management (Leuna, Germany)

Position Summary

To provide the company with the strategic and operational support required for Europe in the area of quality management and other standards in accordance with the company's requirements. The main objective of this function is to comply with and ensure standards. This role is a balance of strategic and hands on work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Independently implements and develops quality management in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 aiming for successful audits at all times:

• Primary professional contact person for the planning and implementation of the company-specific policy on quality and quality objectives

• Communicates quality principles with the aim of promoting quality awareness in the company

• Ensures that processes are up-to-date and, where they intersect, are in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001

• Document complaint process, aiming to keep this documentation complete and up-to-date

• Conducts reliable statistical evaluation and creates reports on the performance of the QM system for the CEO with the aim of continuously improving the system.

• Coordinates and plans audits and accreditations, as well as monitors and evaluates the resulting measures with the aim of minimizing risks.

• Coordinates the preparation and further development of the QM specification documents (work instructions, procedural instructions and other operative documents) and ensures QM documentation (records).

2. Independently implements and develops other accreditation systems aiming to always achieve successful audits:

• Approves suppliers and raw materials for GMP and GMP+

• Creates/reviews HACCP concepts

• Conducts "mock recalls"

3. Acts as a reliable contact point for questions regarding quality management (DIN EN ISO 9001) and other accreditation systems for internal and external bodies.

4. Communicates with authorities and external service providers while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

5. Maintains the legal register in line with the needs of the company (forwarding updates, supplementing legal provisions in the register).

6. Independently prepares and conducts seminars on specialized topics.

7. Reliably procures information on and evaluates future accreditation projects (prepares decision-making documents).

8. Performs other tasks assigned by the CEO in a careful and timely manner.

Education & Experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

• Successfully completed university or technical college in a scientific field, preferably chemistry, food chemistry, biology or similar, or relevant professional experience or further education.

• 5+ years of experience in quality management within GMP-regulated chemical, beauty, and food manufacturing environments, with a proven track record of leading successful ISO 9001, GMP, GMP+, and HACCP audit and certification processes end to end.

• Languages (Mandatory): Native-level proficiency in German; intermediate to advanced proficiency in English.

• Result-driven and cost-conscious way of working, pro-active and goal-oriented work.

• Very meticulous, reliable and conscientious.

• Dedicated, flexible, good organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team.

• Microsoft Office - Advanced.

Desirable:

• Knowledge and expertise regarding RSPO.

• Knowledge of the HACCP concept.

• Expertise regarding sustainability.
